About Hidden Ribbon
Written and maintained by one person, not a company.
Hidden Ribbon started as a small, independent site about the features and shortcuts in everyday apps — Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Canva, Gmail — that don't jump out at you the first time you open the app, the kind you usually only find by accident. It's since grown to also cover upcoming video game releases and the hidden details in games already out, using the same idea: the small, specific things that are easy to miss.
It started from a simple, recurring feeling: opening one of these apps almost every day for work, and still stumbling across a feature that had clearly been there all along, just never surfaced anywhere obvious. Flash Fill in Excel was one of those moments. So was realizing PowerPoint's eyedropper works outside the app entirely. Hidden Ribbon exists to collect that kind of thing in one place, explained plainly, instead of leaving it scattered across forum threads and buried menus.
What you'll find here
Short, specific write-ups — one trick per article, explained with the exact steps to use it, where it actually helps, and anything worth watching out for. No filler, no "10 tips" listicles padded out to hit a word count.
How the site makes money
Hidden Ribbon is supported by advertising through Google AdSense. Ads don't influence which tricks get covered or how they're described — see the Privacy Policy for details on how that works and what data is involved.
About the gaming coverage
Hidden Ribbon is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any game publisher or developer mentioned on this site. Game titles, screenshots and artwork referenced in our gaming coverage belong to their respective publishers and are used for editorial illustration and identification purposes only, with a credit line under each image. Official trailers are embedded directly from the publisher's own YouTube channel where available.
