A grid of cards or icons that looks slightly uneven is one of the fastest ways for a design to feel unfinished, even if nothing is technically wrong with it.

Canva's Position panel fixes the spacing across a whole selection at once, rather than element by element.

Here's the trick:

Select everything, open Position, and let Canva tidy up the spacing between every element for you.

How to use it

  1. Select every element you want to tidy up — click the first, Shift+click the rest, or drag a selection box around them.
  2. Click "Position" in the toolbar that appears above the selection.
  3. Choose an alignment option, such as align center or align left.
  4. Choose "Tidy up" or a distribute option to space everything evenly, all at once.

Where it helps most

Rows of icons, a grid of testimonial cards, or any layout that looks slightly uneven without an exact grid to snap everything to.

One thing to watch for

Position works on the elements currently selected only — locked elements, or elements sitting on a different page, won't be included.
