Paradox Junction is the time-bending Nuketown map: the quest bounces you between a ruined present and a sunny 1950s version of the same neighborhood, and ends with a boss fight against the Dark Heart. Community guides call it simpler than Astra Malorum.
Before you start:
Steps are compiled from several published community guides. Small details — pickup spots, the order of side puzzles, values that randomize each match — can differ between matches and patches, so treat each phase as a checklist.
Phase 1: Pack-a-Punch
- Follow the objective markers to get Pack-a-Punch running. Everything after this assumes upgraded weapons.
Phase 2: Build the Blundergat
- The map's Wonder Weapon is the Blundergat, a triple-barreled shotgun built from four parts spread across both timelines. It's assembled at a bench near the yellow bus.
- Tip: you can locate parts by ear. The barrel is near loot cysts, the hammer near mannequins, and the stock near walls covered in black goo.
Phase 3: Gather the quest items
- Get the RC-XD controller, which can spawn in one of three places (the first to check is beside the perk machine behind the Green House).
- Grab the Death Perception perk — you need it to see the outline of the Headset. In the ruined Nuketown it appears in one of three spots: between the perk machine and the mannequin in the Yellow House backyard, on the rack on the Green House's second floor, or in the garbage bin on the street in front of the Green House.
Phase 4: The clock and the timelines
- Climb on top of the yellow bus in the ruined Nuketown and shoot the hands of the giant clock until both point to zero.
- Teleport to the past. Just before the teleport animation ends, shoot the clock hands one last time. Done correctly, music plays in the intact version of the map.
Phase 5: The Twins' puzzles
- Play hopscotch with the Twins, watching for black mist travelling between the tiles.
- Complete the piano puzzle that follows, and the ball-bouncing step, where you kill zombies as they're thrown into the air.
- In the clean Nuketown, follow the blue orbs, then interact with the Twins in the Yellow House backyard to start the boss fight.

Phase 6: The Dark Heart
- Phase one: three cystic cores appear. Kill zombies near each to feed it souls and destroy them one by one. This uncovers three objects the boss covered in black goo. Defend them.
- Once all three are safe, the boss becomes vulnerable at the crack-like weak spots on its heart. Damage it until it drops by a third and moves to phase two.
- In the final phase it covers the three objects again and tortured zombies join in. Complete the concentration fields to make it vulnerable once more.
- Empty its health bar to trigger the ending cutscene, which resolves the Warden and Ava Jansen storyline. Rewards: the Main Quest Complete calling card and a unique Blundergat skin.
