Rex Infernus is the sixth and final round-based map in Black Ops 7 Zombies, and it closes the Warden storyline that began on the launch map. The quest is long, gated by rounds and unforgiving of mistakes, so the order matters more than raw firepower. Directed Mode arrived with Season 6 on September 17, 2026.
Before you start:
Steps are compiled from several published community guides. Small details — pickup spots, the order of side puzzles, values that randomize each match — can differ between matches and patches, so treat each phase as a checklist.
Phase 1: Escape the house and Pack-a-Punch
- Answer the ringing phone in the spawn house's basement to unlock the door into the main map.
- Go through the teleporter down to the Nexus Forge to unlock Pack-a-Punch.
Phase 2: Build the Warden's Blight
- The Wonder Weapon is the Warden's Blight, a set of crossbows. Almost every later step depends on its charged shot.
- Building it means upgrading the Forge's flame, opening Nyxara's Inner Sanctum, collecting three parts from a hidden forest, and solving a randomized pillar puzzle under Dravakar.
- For part of it, go to the Dravakar Main Chamber, face southwest and grapple onto the ledge above the entrance.
Phase 3: Learn the Titan Trap
- The Titan Trap is the map's new trap. The symbols on its shackles determine which hand must kill the marked zombies during the cleansing steps, so check them each time.
Phase 4: Cleanse the four Shadowsmith temples
- Each temple follows a similar pattern: reveal a reflector (in one case by jumping on a tile 30 times without stopping), lift it with a charged Warden's Blight shot, and angle the beam at the marked spot for that temple.
- Charge the beam with souls by killing zombies underneath it until it breaks the barrier. Shoot any statue it reveals to expose the Shadow Souls hiding in the Nyxara Main Chamber.
- Several steps are gated by specific rounds, Ammo Mods, perks and quest items, so don't rush the order.

Phase 5: The Warden
- When you're ready, go underneath Pack-a-Punch and stand in the blue circles to confront the final boss.
- The Warden — real name Jack McGregor — is the overarching antagonist of the whole Black Ops 7 Zombies story. Survive his final phase to complete the quest and wrap up the saga ahead of Modern Warfare 4.
- Rewards: the Bloodthorn Wonder Weapon skin, a calling card and 10,000 XP.
