Some content is worth having on the page without needing to be visible all the time — background context, a long list of edge cases, notes only some readers need.

Here's the trick:

Any block — text, a list, even a whole section — can become a toggle that hides its contents behind a single collapsible line.

How to use it

  1. Type /toggle and press Enter to add a new toggle block, or
  2. Select existing blocks, right-click, and choose Turn into → Toggle list to convert what's already there.
  3. Type a label for the toggle, and put whatever you want hidden underneath it — text, images, even a whole table.
  4. Click the arrow to expand or collapse it.

Where it helps most

Long documents that need to stay scannable — FAQs, meeting notes with detail some readers can skip, or a page that serves both a quick-read and a deep-read audience at once.

One thing to watch for

A collapsed toggle still shows up in Notion's search results by its contents, not just its label — so hiding something visually doesn't hide it from search.
