Notion's default look leans on soft grays for borders and secondary text — easy on the eyes for some, harder to read for others, especially on certain screens.

Here's the trick:

High contrast mode sharpens up text, icons, and borders across the whole app, without changing your actual content or layout.

How to turn it on

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Go to Preferences.
  3. Under Appearance, turn on High contrast.

Where it helps most

Anyone who finds Notion's default muted grays hard to read, especially on lower-brightness screens or in bright ambient light.

One thing to watch for

As of this writing it's available on desktop and web, but not yet on every mobile client — worth checking whether your platform has it if you don't see the option.
