Xiaomi launched the Xiaomi 18 Pro and Xiaomi 18 Pro Max in China on September 23, 2026. The company has confirmed that both will also go on sale globally in 2026 — the first time in several years its Pro phones have left China — but it hasn’t announced a date, a country list or European prices. One outlet reports a November launch; others say no date has been confirmed.
At a glance:
China pricing: ¥5,999 for the Pro and ¥6,999 for the Pro Max — roughly €785 and €915 at the late-September exchange rate, or about $840 and $980. Importers selling the phones in Europe before the official launch were listing the 12GB/256GB versions at around €857 (Pro) and €1,127 (Pro Max). None of these are official European prices, which Xiaomi hasn’t set yet.
What’s new
Both phones bring Qualcomm’s new generation of 2-nanometer chips, with cores that reach up to 5GHz. The standard Pro runs the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 — GSMArena calls it the first phone on the market with that chip — while the Pro Max uses the higher-end Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6.
Both share the same dual 200MP Leica camera system: a 200MP main sensor (f/1.7, with optical image stabilization) and a 200MP periscope telephoto with 3.2x optical zoom, alongside a 50MP ultrawide with a 102° field of view. Video goes up to 8K at 30fps, with 10-bit Dolby Vision and LOG support at 4K.
Both also keep the rear screen from last year’s 17 Pro series — 2.7 inches on the Pro and 2.9 inches on the Pro Max. Xiaomi says it supports more than 100 app cards at launch (notifications, quick controls, mini-games, AI-made wallpapers) and doubles as a viewfinder for the rear cameras. And both get a hardware “privacy screen” that narrows the viewing angle so people next to you can’t read the display — Xiaomi’s answer to the Privacy Display Samsung introduced on the Galaxy S26 Ultra.
What may change outside China: reports suggest the global versions could ship with smaller batteries to meet regional regulations — one outlet cites leaked international figures of around 6,000mAh and 7,050mAh, against 7,000mAh and 8,500mAh in China. The battery numbers below are the Chinese models’.

Why it matters
Packing an 8,500mAh battery into a phone that’s only 8.4mm thick, alongside one of the first Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme chips and a dual-200MP camera setup, makes the Pro Max one of the most aggressive flagship spec sheets this year — outlets covering the launch have compared it directly to Samsung’s Galaxy S26 Ultra. Two caveats for buyers in Europe: Xiaomi hasn’t set official prices or a date yet, and the global versions may come with smaller batteries than the ones listed here.
